Default Kite Fantasy Fest! ---> Oct. 19 - 28 (VIDEO!)

Fantasy Fest In Key West!

Flying over the Flats, by ultralight or kite

Floating down Duval on your float rubbing ... uh, your lucky butt?

I saw the movie Goldfinger, but Gold-boobs? Must be a sequel, hope that guy in the feathers isn't cast.

I think these two should have swapped outfits, would have been interesting.

Why not hit the Flats with The Kitehouse? Mighty fine out there.

Checkout some of the illustrated articles on Fantasy Fest, Key West and Kiting.

I was just speaking with Paul Menta of The Kitehouse. They have been getting 20 mph plus for quite a while. It is gusting over 35 as I am writing this, on the mainland, sigh. Despite that the water is still relatively calm due to the Florida Reef Tract breaking up deep water waves miles offshore Checkout the historical winds for Sand Cay at http://www.ikitesurf.com/windAndWher...113&siteID=313 Paul tells me it gives a fairly accurate indication of winds closer to Key West as well. Head out with the Kitehouse's sea taxi service and tear it up on the Flats.

Secret back country spot. Imagine this in 20 mph?!

So, just want to get out and rip loose on the Flats, party at night, The Kitehouse can help you there.

- Want to learn to kite, nothing easier, checkout Get'n Schooled.
- Want to move up from that LONG BROAD intermediate rider plateau? Then checkout "Summer School'd" even though it's fall, it's still good.
- Want to focus on moving past those advance riding hurdles, why not "Go Mental?"

More at: http://www.thekitehouse.com/key_west.php
Note: checkout the aerial video of kiting the Flats, insane stuff.

They even setup and tear down your kite for you in all that shallow warm water

Accommodations may be a bit tight on Bone Island at this late date but there are probably digs for rent still available a bit further up the Keys.

Can't make Fantasy Fest, well there is always next year but in the meantime the riding is still fine and you can fall off a log and start your own party on Cayo Huesto.

Ill be down there for the event. Going to visit the parents with a group of 8-10. Maybe I will see some of you on the water. Paul - what does it cost to get a ride to the flats kite. Also my parents are interested in volunteering for the race and I am interested in sponsoring it. Get in touch with me.

Great weekend of fun! Glad I was able to kite on Sat. and meet Rick! Fantasy Fest was off the hook and better than last year. So many amazing costumes.

It was good to see Fritz, John, Steve and other folks down in Key West. How did you guys do down there?

The Flats were great yesterday. I was chasing Paul of The Kitehouse all over the place with a video camera. Wonder why guys use waverunners when they could do it with a kite. Well, the framing might be better but using a kite is sure more fun.

Paul put us up over The Grand Restaurant with a prime view on Fantasy Fest with a loo just down the hall. An amazing first for us! A whopper of an article and video should come out of this one. Thanks Paul!

Here's a short clip from the Flats yesterday chasing Paul from The Kitehouse. Shot about a dozen of these so a longer edited clip is coming. I'll throw in quite a bit of footage from Fantasy Fest, costumes or lack thereof and more. Fun times on and off Cayo Huesto!

Your arm can sure get tired hanging on one handed while shooting with the other. Finally started to pass the camera from one had to the other after a while.
