we will be on 12's and a variety of boards. if you have a strappless surf board you are good to go. hope to see a few more kites tonight. see you on the water.

Hey Kent,

I understand you had pretty good wind for the last three sessions. How were they?

Also, you mentioned something about building a team of SE coast Challengers to head out to California to give the Bay area guys a run for their money. What did you have in mind?

We were lucky this year and actually got out for 3 wed night races in a row. it would have been nice to have a few more kiters, but the windsurfers kept us on our toes.

I remember that last year we could hardly make it around the course, but now i am consistantly 4th overall out of the windsurfers and can beat all but the real formula racers. Their angle up wind is huge and my speed and angle off the wind are not enough to overcome their up wind advantage.

It's good to get the pratice on the race starts. I really think that the course racing is going to take off. Our Cabrinha series in San Fran has been great. Cabrinha rider Jeff Kafka has been dominant this year, winning most races on his directional board. It seems as though the twin tips are in the game up wind, but they are very difficult to ride off the wind when compared to boards like my DC directional.

For those that haven't been to SF Bay to ride, they are missing out. I would strongly suggest making plans to attend the first ever kite racing nationals. This even is run by a very professional group and the racing is highly evolved. If you think you are fast and think you can race, head to the bay at the end of July.
