11th Annual Miami Kite Masters
April 18th & 19th 2015

The Miami Kite Masters returned to Crandon Park this weekend for the 11th year running. Certainly one of the longest recurrent Kite Competition in the USA.

Light winds on Saturday meant the day was spent as a warm-up for Sunday, which was forecasted to be much windier. Fun slalom races for adults and youths were run and the different kite brands demoed new gear to the crowd that came out for the event.

Sunday dawned bright and clear and the wind came out in full force at noon. Competition in the events were very tight and MC and judge for the event Neil Hutchinson and Christophe Ribot , organizer and owner of Miamikiteboarding, kept the crowd informed and entertained thought-out the day with assistance from fellow kiter Kaja Lepczyńska from Poland.

Big thanks goes out to Christophe Ribot and its entire team at Miami Kiteboarding for putting on the event for 11 years running, along with the great support of Crandon Park officers & Ocean Rescue staff always working closely with the organizer to ensure highest safety for participants and spectators.
Remarkable example of collaboration between the authorities and a kiteboarding school at Crandon beach, which benefits directly to the kiteboarding community .

Next year’s event is scheduled for the second weekend of April 2016, traditionally right after the Miami Tennis Open finishes.
