Default Glider - Light Wind Alternative

Many guys ask about no wind alternatives. Tom was introduced to one exactly one year ago today. Yesterday he made his first solo flight.
I went with him and video taped it. It was quite impressive. Seemed very peaceful, but... I was concerned for him during landing.

Here is the clip, edited by Tom.

That's awesome. Congrats to him. You will always remember "your first" of all the things we do in life.

Here's another alternative when the wind isn't blowing horizontal but blowing vertical. I spent 5 yrs flying out of Wallaby Ranch in Davenport FL. Some flights over 2 hours long with the thermals.

Exit 55 off of I-4. Great school, dealer, club, lesson etc...

Cool! That must have been a blast. I had a hard time downloading the entire video of Tom's solo, but I get the idea.

The one thing that has kept me from it is reliance on a motorized tow-up, but....Lots of interesting things happening with sail planes + solar power

Time to trade the kites in??

Very cool Tyler. I was looking at Wallaby before I went with Tom.
Now I can't decide b/n the two. I guess I have to try both.
Geez.. your vid freaked me out for an instant. That special effect at first made it look like your rig was collapsing.

That looks pretty awesome. Not sure I want a bird in my face, though. Don't like the sounds of that. I think I might try the Glider first.
