Default Fish SUP'ing

Wow. Some people thought I was joking when I mentioned how cool a SUP rigged for fishing would be, but it now appears to be a reality. I was just on AA's site looking at stuff... and saw this. I personally think it would be kick ass to catch a tarpon off a SUP!!
Imagine how much fun it would be to get towed a couple miles by a 110 pounder around Tampa Bay on a big surf board!! He he he he.

Default Big ones!

Oh yeah, fish SUPing has been going down for awhile off shore in Hawaii. Guys catching big tuna 10 miles out! Maybe when we get some spring weather I'll give it a shot!

That's cool. I saw an article about 15 years ago about guys catching huge fish out there off of adapted windsurfers and sailing them back in. I just thought that was the schit. I guess I should have known some of those same guys (and new ones) were doing it off SUPs.
I just hadn't heard about it. I think it's a great idea and would love to try it.
Under the Skyway for tarpon would be totally sick.

BTW, I saw you take Al's Naish fish out for a while. What'd you think?

There appears to be a decent community of board fishers out in Cali as well.
This chick is really into it. She is using a sabiki to get white bait on the spot and then catching 30 pounders. Check out the pink/purple reel.
Sweet.

Default Nice!

I have a pink and purple reel just like that one! lol.....I liked Al's board a lot. He said that you have ridden it and really enjoyed it as well. He had straps on it so that took some getting used to but it was really soft on the waves and shop. Definitely excited to try it strapless. It's funny because I just got in that same exact board for my shop. What did you think of it?
