OT - Pinellas Surf Spots?

Haven't surfed in about 13 years but would like to give it a whirl tomorrow AM. All those pics on Gulfster got me stoked. Where is a spot with decent waves but without the crowds and attitude?

That's a tough one. I have been alot of places around the world and by far this place has the most attitude. I think it is because we don't get that much great surf and we live in a crowded place.

If I had the day, I would go to Holmes Beach in Bradenton south of Anna Maria Island. It is a nice beach break where you can spread out. The waves down there are usually bigger than up in Pinellas. Most of the good pics you are seeing on Gulfster are down south for sure. For example, it was chest high in S. Pinellas today and head high down south in Bradenton.

Saturday will likely be waist to chest in Pinellas, and chest to head in Bradenton. Both will be crowded for sure.
