Default Kite trip for Matteo's bachelor party

Hi Guys,

as you probably have already heard I'm getting married at the end of June '08 and instead of having a bar crawl downtown I thought about a little kite trip. I'm thinking of a long week end at the end of May or beginning of June, nothing too far and nothing with a "bad" reputation (like Cabarete or Cuba). Any idea ?? Who would be interested ??

Let me know if you have any ideas...

cheers.
matteo

Brazil is definitely out for a 3 days trip. The old good Spanish Wells could work but I was thinking about something new for us like Turks & Caicos, Mayaguana, Inagua and maybe Aklins. I checked Aruba, Barbados and Puerto Rico out but need to go to Miami first and for a 3 days trip we are wasting too much time trying to get there.

For a short trip like this we need to be spending more time on the water than in the air. I've checked few chartered flight out and found out that we can charter a 9 seater to Turks for about 400 usd each. It takes 2.5 h to get there, this means that we can leave early in the morning and still hit the water at around 11/12 am.

Any thoughts ??

I was actually throwing around the idea of turks a few weeks ago... Seems like it may be far enough south to be in the Summer Trades. Its kinda $ to stay and eat (so i hear) but what the hell. Im up for anything.

edit: After Goggle Earthing the area around Provo... there are allot of shallow sandy bays similar to blue hill, espc an are called Sapodilla Bay..

Thumbs up Spanish wells easy to get to and not to manny $$$$

we can rent the house on the beach that I used for the kite camp, it could be a last min thing (long weekend ) depending on the wind and direction of wind.
I think that if I was going to go to Turks I might as well go to DR.
bring all of the food and beer and strippers and tar and feathers for Matteo.
what do you guys recon?

Me again. Time is flying so we better do something here. The only feasible and doable long w/e would be Turks. I've checked the flights and the best solution would be a charter but with 6 of us would come to about Usd 600 each. The other solution would be Bahamas Air (leaves at 9.30am) and BA (leaves there at 7pm) for Usd 380.--. I was thinking of the following dates: May 8th until 11th or June 5th until 8th. The other thing would be finding a place to stay but should not be a problem since it's low season. Overall we are looking at Usd 1'000 w/e top. Who's in ??

Hey Mat,

Céline is due for the end of May so sorry but I can't make it... That would have been amazing. Never been to the Turks.

Cheers,

Vince
