I voted as well. After looking through the leader board, you apparently really missed the boat by not naming your organization after a children's fantasy franchise.

Thanks for the vote Scotty! Personally, I don't think we have much of a chance in this contest without serious help but will hopefully be ready for the next one. 20g's could go a long way towards kiting events and other good things for the sport, and to think it could only be XXXX number of clicks away is astounding.

This last minute opportunity for some free funding should serve as an example of the genuine opportunities that are now upon all of us (kiters) having a public charity, and why we should be working together and building a solid network of communication now, not later.

I'll begin explaining some of these opportunities and tools we have to work with soon, and defining areas we need help.
There's some pretty exciting stuff going on.

While I'm thinking about it- if anyone happens to know any school teachers out there, please pass them this info-

ASF can help you obtain a 5000.00 grant through the NEA from for your school to do an Art For The Sky project like the one we did in Tampa last year. These projects are already approved by NEA with 200 grants available- its a simple online application, costs your school nothing, and the next deadline is Oct. 15th.

The artist is a kiter also, so we're chomping at the bit to do a kiting scene here locally, we just need a teacher to work with.

Please pass the word to teachers you may know, its a fun project and is really cool for the kids.

I would like to thank the ones who voted for ASF in this contest- you rock!
Unfortunately, kiters were "edged out" by only about 1475 votes for the Wildclaw Theatre.
Their mission statement is:
WildClaw Theatre’s mission is to bring the world of horror to the stage. We intend to attract a new kind of audience which does not usually go to the theatre, an audience craving strange journeys of dread, suspense, terror and wonder. In other words - Horror Theatre.

Go WILDCLAWS!

Upon further review of the results, about 15-20 theater companies in Chicago all voted for each other 20x, effectively stomping a mudhole in the arses of many other charities.
