Picnic Island Tampa ?

Hey I was out running a little cocktail cruise for some board members yesterday, and on the way back to our yard off Gandy I spotted a lone kite in the air just north of MacDill. I cecked it out on Google Earth and it looks like it is an area called Picnic Island. From what I can see it looks like it would be pretty good from NW to SW. Whats the the deal over there?

Others will chime in with specifics, but, I know lotsa guys LOVE that spot :P
I rode there alot about 5 years ago. I can't remember too much about it, except that Johnny and I lost ALOT of remote control planes out there waiting for the wind to pick up :?
