That's old news. It is a good idea, though.
http://www.extremekiteskiteboarding....pic.php?t=1187 I don't need a warranty on my Flexis, Toby. Only crappy kites that rip need warranties Take the bait, T-Dub.... c'mon... take it. |

Translation, BEST or Flexi didn't come up with the idea first so let me try and find a way to put a negative twist on it, even if it is cheap insurance and whether my last kite repair cost well over $60 or not LOL

It is not a bad thing, and would be nice if they offered it as an option. I'd opt for the best possible kite at the best price they can offer and I can assume the risk of damage. If a repair is needed due to a problem with materials or workmanship the company should cover it even if it is beyond their warranty period. I don't think they should charge you up front for repairs that may be due to a defect. That is just me though. I'm a cheap bastard and it galls me what I pay for health insurance that is essentially me betting Aetna $500/month that I will get sick and them betting I won't.

Honestly, I think it's great. In my case though, I haven't had to repair any of my last 7 kites in the past 3 years. Basically I'd have thrown away $420 if I had to pay an extra $60 per kite, regardless of size. But, that said, any warranty is great these days because so few companies have one.. thats ridiculous considering the markup on this stuff. |
