If you're looking for semi flat water you can try Picnic or Cypress other wise the Gulf is your best bet.

Thx.
Do you know which beach(es) on the gulf side will have kiters in AM? Ikite reads 22 N on the gulf and is calling for an early wind. Thx again. |

That Ikite forecast was a joke. Even accuweather got it wrong this weekend. Will there ever be wind on the weekend in Tampa?

JK,
If you are still "here", Scott and Jeff just left for North Beach Ft. Desoto. http://www.tbka.org/TBKAWiki/index.p....2C_Ft._DeSoto |

Yeah, North Beach is nice. I'm already in Clearwater. No kiters at Sand Key Park, so will continue to head north. Thx. JK |

Hey JK, (Scott here)
Hope you got some good wind. NB was awesome. 20 - 25 NW. Turned on right around 12 pm or so, like a light switch. This graph seems pretty spot on. http://www.iwindsurf.com/windandwher...49&siteID=1838 |

Yeah, glad I went back to NB for a brief session.
Scott and Jeff, you guys were right about the wind picking up. Solid conditions. The complete opposite of ikite and accuweather. Wish I could have stayed longer. Amazing 11 year old kiter out there doing jumps, board grabs, etc. |
