Look out at cypress
Rode cypress today from about 1:30-4 and It was quite good, however there was a survey Crew out there and they have placed wooden stakes in the water, some are exposed....some are not, I found out the hard way so noone else has to now... They are any where from 1-10 yards from the beach starting where the pool does and running southish up the beach most are concentrated in front of the slow speed sign.
So BE CAREFULL |

I saw a sign today that stated the beach is going to be closed from (I think)April to October. And judging by the earth movers they got sitting there, they are about to start.

That sucks!!!
Cypress was the closest spot to my house in North Tampa and I passed it on the way home from work - now everything is going to be 40+minute drive and gas$$$. Anybody got a secret spot in upper Tampa Bay that they can PM me?

By the looks of the background, I'd say that was Picnic Island.

Picnic is a great spot. You can kite there on any direction that does not have East in it. It's never crowded and there are some excellent flats. Just don't kite in the swimming area in the summer when the lifeguards are there.
