Accuweather is showing a nice PM spike too, unfortunately they are showing it with a thunderstorm. I'm going to keep one eye on the radar and the other on the wind.

Here is the image for Sunday

Notice the over laying isobars. This means a very strong contrast in pressure gradients and the closer the isobars are, the more wind will be generated. This is about as far as my knowledge goes. I am still learning myself. I hope others will post their knowledge and educate all of us.

...you've got the important stuff....the wind usually (ie should) blows perpendicular to the isobars, and if you really want to, you can calculate wind strength based on the difference in millibars for a given distance...which is exactly what the forecasting computers do....

....think I'm gonna head out to EB with the dog to do some recon...

Cheers,

Chris

Here is some good reading material on Isobars, Isotherms, Isodrosotherms, and Pressure and Temperature.

I saw a few guys get "lucky" yesterday and ride the skyway in the rain for a few minutes when it went to 18... unfortunately it went down to 8 shortly after and started pouring.
