Default Picnic Island

To get to picnic island take westshore south past gandy and go all the way to the end. If you look on google earth its the far SW tip of the Interbay Peninsula with beach facing west. S, SW, NW, N winds are good, just try to check the tide because a lot of water moves along that beach during the large tides. If you've a N wind and outgoing tide you'll need a lot of wind. On a S or SW you can work upwind of the point and kite a beautiful flat next to macdill afb that local fisherman refer to as the community hole. Wolfman and Barrs did that the other day and said it was killer. Just don't go past the Off limit signs that are around the AFB grass flats or you may have some company like the coast gaurd. Big brother can see that boundary loud and clear from the traffic control tower at the base and when boats cross it they're on 'em in no time. Also wear foot protection due to some rocks just off the beach and a little glass here and there.
