Default Photos - Neil & Terri Hutchinson's Wedding

Click image for full sized photo

Neil Hutchinson is well know for his good works and efforts on behalf of kiting going back virtually to the start of the sport. Terri, his now wife has been with him, supporting his activities and kiting herself since the early days as well.

Neil and four other kiters take off for a world record kiting run to Havana, Cuba from Key West in 2001.

... and hundreds more similar images and events. Just to get a small sampling of some of what Neil has done over the last 14 or so years in kiting, checkout the link: Neil Hutchinson on fksa.org

He has done much more nationalwide over the years, even internationally. So, when Neil and Terri decided to tie the knot, I went up to see the union form and bring back some photos of the event. Neil and Terri expanded their interests into sky diving in recent years. The sky diving operation at Sky Dive Sebastian has become their second home, literally! The wedding was held at nearby Ferndale Lodge on Sunday, April 21, 2013. The reception followed at Sky Dive Sebastian. The happy couple's circle of friends includes both kiters and sky divers among many others.

Neil organized Flying Under Canopies And Kites Competition at this venue in 2011. I went up and shot that as well photos of which will show up in this account. The weather didn't support sky diving the afternoon and evening of the wedding, so these images show what might have gone on in the sky.

The ceremony was capably performed by good friend Evan Bell, notary and sky diver/kiter/pilot/???

Evan gearing up to jump

Evan opened things up with a short delivery followed by the exchanging of vows created by Neil and Terri for this special day. There was no screwing around, this was a quick ceremony and I am glad I made it in time driving up from down south!

Tiki Beach in Ft. Lauderdale was the venue which brought many together who attended the wedding.

Neil about to exit while Terri lingers a bit before dropping off into space.

So many events over the years. Neil has been there helping to bring things together and move kiting forward.

After the vows, rings were also exchanged.

And parties, so many outstanding parties all over!

What goes through your head at a time like this? The wedding I mean.

You're almost there, hang in the ground is approaching ... fast!

It is all sealed with a kiss.

The man and his kite-hearse way back in 2001

... and about as fast as you can say "Jack's you're uncle" the bond is made.

The happy couple walks off together into life and the crowd cheers!

There was a great turn out of well wishers traveling in from all over.

Finally, time to relax a bit!

Marina Chang of the Kiteboarder Magazine is in all the way from California.

Tiki Beach regulars up to wish the couple joy on their day.

And still more events, dozens of them.

Alex a Tiki Beach regular from way back is in all the way from the Gorge.

And, so many fundraisers and charitable events again, all over!

Who could forget the epic Ft. Lauderdale to Bimini kite race in 2005?

Mike and Janice up from the Keys

Grace is in from Tampa

Hollywood Jesse strolls back to rig for another jump.

Ryan Riccitelli in from Texas

Then there were the incredible 60 mile kite races from Jupiter to Ft. Lauderdale.

And so many sessions

As far as I know, Neil created kiteboarder cross racing. Terri is about to take off on her heat at Crandon Park.

Time to move on to the reception.

Setting up the reception area. It is to start about four hours after the wedding ceremony.

Jesse and the crew keep the good times going pending the start of the reception.

The weather isn't working for sky diving but is good for buggying. Hamish rigs up and goes to it on the taxi way of the strip.

Family calls and I need to hit the road for the two hour trip back south. Hope it is a fun reception, as if there is any other kind with this crowd.

Happiness to the new couple today and always!

You are most welcome Terri! You folks have done so much over the years in kiting and now sky diving. I barely touched on all the happenings and photos out there. Enjoy your new life together!

Best regards to you both!
Rick
