Coming Florida Events ... ???

Great events are coming back and still other new ones are coming online. It seems to be in the nature of these things to pull them together close to the time of the event. Still, it would help for participants, other event organizers and potential sponsors to know the rough timing of your event. Then there is the Calendar on this site which can help all of the above plan for future events. Wind delays will come periodically, still what are your thoughts for when your event will likely happen? You are putting in all the hard work and planning, let us help to make your event an even greater success.

Some events that come to mind include:

Tampa Bay Kitemasters
Kite4Girls
The Key West College Comp.
The 85 mile Lower Keys Race (just heard about this one)

and what else

So, what is the date or range of dates you are planning for these events currently? I've looked over the posts for the Tampa Bay Kitemasters a few times but am still uncertain about first possible start (2/10/08?) and time range.

Rick,

We are having our kick off party this Saturday at Water Sports West and then the following Saturday is the official starting window of waiting for the right conditions. We will be waiting for N, NE, E blowing at least 20+ through out the day. Then we can hold the speed race competition after everyone finishes the main race. So pray for wind on Feb. 16th or 17th.

We need everyone to be paid and have their waivers in by the Saturday. No exceptions.

We have a limited supply of jersey's and shirts.

Myself or CrazyJay will post more soon.

Thanks Chris, just what I was looking for. It's up on the calendar and will slide outward there if needed for suitable winds. Hope useable winds hit bigtime on the 16th!

Yes...good, I didn't know about the event Chris. We will do our best to get someone over there to support and help out if needed.

As for the 2008 Keys Kite Challenge:

We will be opening registration soon. www.keyskitechallenge.com (not live yet but close) will contain all official race information and updates pertaining to the event. This kind of event requires perfect conditions and therefore will be on call to run on a Saturday in late March to April. We will try our best to not interfere with other events...we want all events to be the bomb! It will probably start fairly early (not crazy early) to keep the sun at our backs for a good part of the run. Some of the event details will be confirmed and finalized with input from the competitors.
