I also had to borrow one of Scott's kites (6m) because the 9m would have been waaaaay too much for 40.

I appreciate it also, thanks.

Thanks for rubbing it in guys.

I only have my 16M Thruster at this point, am waiting for a replacement for my shredded 12M Thruster before I can brave winds like those...glad you guys had fun!

No problem on the loaner kites.
Al obviously got the better loan. That 2002 6m C kite looked pretty funny (and small) out there.
It was blowing up to 40 when we launched though, so I thought it would work. I told you you wouldn't get blown off of it in 40.
It needs 30 to really work though, kinda funny really.

It looks like it might blow until 11 or so, Jason, from the NE. It just picked up at the SW (it often picks up as it warms up for a few hours).
I checked this sensor http://www.srh.noaa.gov/data/obhistory/KSPG.html and it's blowing 14 there.
It's usually about 3 to 4 knots more at the SW and the SW sensor says 20, so 15/17 now at SW right now seems reasonable to me.

It will probably spike out at the SW at about 8:30 am (it's currently 7:40) for about 1.5 hours, then taper a tad, then die by 11.
That's the typical pattern on a day "like this" and my guess, for what it's worth.

It's pretty cold though.

I am working on that website. Not worth it to only get one hour and freeze. 3 hours freezing is worth it.
Tonight would be decent NP weather if there were water at Lassing.
