Skyway C-cut Update
Emailed NOAA. See below.
Hi Shane -- We had it back up but there are problems with the new data logger - it keeps locking up and has to be manually reset. That takes a boat ride and a 60 ft. climb on a guano-encrusted tower. We are testing a complete new system and hope to have it replaced within the next week. Its definitely a sticky situation, but their newest employee, Larry, fears no bird, and is eager to climb the corporate ladder.... Ummm Mark.... Do ya think Larry could chisel a few of those crusties off the sensor? Might help with the accuracy... |

Would be a good DIRTY JOBS episode. Is it the tower thats ten feet away from the SW bridge? Its strange, last week i finished up some weather tower art for a Nasa contractor.....and i didnt draw any bird poop on the tower, see:
http://homepage.mac.com/anthropods/PhotoAlbum19.html however i did include an osprey.....but the tower is sparkling clean, i totally forgot about bird poop. Im looking to do more art like this, sorry for pimping it here/hijacking....just thought i might get it out there. Phil |
