would anybody be up for an east coast (cocoa beach) trip either wed or thurs?
surf reports is calling for 6-9ft waves with 20knots onshore winds....

man wouldn't it be cool to catch it just as it switches side off... then the waves would clean up and you could be pulled into them instead of away from them... so you could actually have a chance at surfing them.

Gusty, and yeah youd probably end up somewhere in the atlantic if you dont have someone watching out for you lol.

Those conditions occur on the east coast Tom, I've caught that type of side- sideoff @ Ft' Pierce and Cocoa bch.

However you have to wait for a dead on North w/ easterly or Seasterly swell. Easterly or Neasterly esp swell is more common

Was in Saint Augustine over the weekend, and NW was still just too choppy to make the attempt worth it (without someone with a jet ski to recover me if something went wrong).

However when it went straight west (directly offshore) the waves were as smooth as glass....sigh.

Was there a swell? From what direction?

This time of the year they typically come from the North atlantic storms, NE.

So that drives them in parallel with the wind usually. unless you get wind from the SE or S

What is helpful on NE swell and wind is a jetty for the swell to wrap around but lowering the wind chop specifically.

think ft pierce, jupiter or cocoa for cleaner waves

Danny,

Thanks for the invite today. Looks I am going to be here working with all of the wind for the remainder of the week. Gotta get it while it's here. But you know I am down for some big waves in wind.

Let's keep trying.
