Default Kite Festival this Weekend @ T.I.

Just found out that there is a kite festival all weekend 1/16 and 1/17 on Treasure Island from 10am to sunset.

There will be competitions, group competitions, buggy demonstrations, and the promoters would like to invite any kitesurfers out to do demonstrations out in the water.

Sunday should have a nice westerly component to the wind it would be perfect to hit TI and put on a show.

Hope you can make it.

Steve-O

That might be fun. I saw my first kiteboarder at the TI Festival in 98 or 99.
It was only blowing around 10 to 12, but I still thought it was the coolest thing I had seen at that point.

If it ever picks back up, a bunch of us are planning to go to TI (KiteFestival) to ride, if anyone else wants to go.

I might try to beg a ride off one of the buggy riders. That is pretty fun.

Scott L. and Jeff R. did. The wind was pretty crap along the beach.
I heard it rocked at Picnic Island though.
