Well, I might have had the chance yesterday, but didn't get enough time on the 9m Ion. I looked at Backside, decided I did not want to risk getting tossed into the tress, so I went down to Sarasota. I sailed the 9m Ion but then the wind came down to less than 20 and I did not have a chance to really go on it powered, so I don't know how it will perform in real conditions.

Once thing that I noticed is that the 9m Ion is fast. It is so fast that I might move the rear attachment points up to slow it down. We'll see. Of course, maybe I was just trippin' because I've been flying a 15m kite for the past few months.

i can imagine...

juggling between the 12m and 9m is a big shock to the system. 9 ZIPS across the sky. takes a few "get used to it" tacks to settle in.

you should have stayed at BS yesterday.

wind was gusty but solid..

plenty of water ...

and most importantly.. so much wind it didnt smell that bad!!
