The Miami Kiteboarding Masters will take place in Crandon Park , Key Biscayne, FL on April 12th -13th , 2008. This event will incorporate the well known and established Kite for Girls for its 5th edition. This year’s event will offer FREESTYLE and RACE contests during the weekend
The course of the Race will be uploaded on the website soon.
Neil Hutchinson from X-Rated is joining again as Race & Contest Director
You may choose to enter only ONE contest or sign up for BOTH

Important:

Fee if registering the day of the event:
$70 for one contest
$120 for both

Each contestant MUST SIGN-IN at the Contest Sign-in Booth upon arrival on the beach, to receive a Competitor Streamer with a number

In case of NO WIND: Competitors will be refunded the entry fees minus $20 for logistic costs and food & beverages.


RIDERS IMPORTANT SAFETY UPDATE FOR THE EVENT

As u know Crandon Park is usually limited to 25 kites on the water at a time. Although the park officers will allow us to extend this number for the competition purposes, still we will have to control the flow of kiters for safety reasons.

There will be no riding during contests going on.

Each kitesurfer must return to the beach when prompted by the audio signal of Imminent contest Start.

Swimming zones will be strictly enforced.

Rogue Kiteboarders will be expulsed from the Beach

Competitors will store their kites on the main beach facing the Corridor and the exhibitors booths

Non-contestant kitesurfers must store kites on the 150 feet beach extension after the northern Lifeguard Stand. This will allow safer Flow
of kites before, during and after contest, and avoid congesting the beach with Kites.

Non-Contestants riders MUST SIGN -IN LIKE ANY REGULAR DAY at MKB Booth

VALID IKO insurance and Level 3 IKO card is required to obtain a RIDER streamer

Daily Insurance Pass is available for $10 at MiamiKiteboarding Booth

To all riders , Competitors , Media and public,

As you all know our Miami Kiteboarding Masters 2008 New Event is coming up this weekend.

As of now the wind seems to be ridable for Saturday ONLY. If the wind does not cooperate with us this weekend we are ready to postpone the event for the following weekend of April 19-20, since the main idea is to ride and run the contests. I’m sure we all agree on that.

We will make the decision on Thursday. The Event will not be canceled, only postponed.

Remember to bring your friends with you, we will have free clinics for all of those who would like to try the sport.

There will be 3 contests, Free style, Slider/Kicker expression, and Buoy Race

ONLY riders registered for Free Style can participate in the Slider/Kicker contest because of advanced skills required (helmets mandatory for Slider/ Kicker )

Miami Kiteboarding Masters is open to competent riders of following categories:
Pro and Amateur, Men, Women, Seniors, Juniors.

Cash prices and Gear will be awarded to winners of all categories.
