Default 1 week in Tampa - what kites to bring?

Hi All,

Headed down tomorrow and will be in town for a week. Looking at the forecast, it doesn't look very promising. I have an 8m and 12m...thinking about just bringing my 12. Good idea?

Thanks,
Tim

I ended up packing both. With my luck, it's usually blowing for the kite I decided not to bring. Pray for wind! I'm leaving 1 foot of snow, ice, and frigid temps here in MA for my annual trip to FL. Can't wait to ride!

Last year when I rode @ Ft. Desoto, I remember someone posted a link that had a map of all the kite beaches, wind direction, hazards, etc. Can someone tell me where I can find that link again?

Thanks in advance,
Tim

You're 12 will probably be the only kite you pull out. A big board would be a good idea. It doesn't look super promising as of right now.
If you're looking to ride, the safest bets of places to show up is either East Beach or the Skyway. Seems like they'll cover enough of your probable wind directions. Or there's the beaches on the right days.

Here's that link:

Good Luck,
Richard
