Default Need help with Bar compatibility

I am a relative noob. I have a cabrinha 2n1 bar with omega 9m kite. I am looking to purchase a larger kite for light wind days.

Is there any place on the internet to find out what kites will work with the Cabrinha 2n1 bar??? Sometimes there will be used kites for sale without the bar and I don't if the kite will work with my cabrinha bar.

I hope that makes sense.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Brian

Brian,

I would plan on buying another bar for your larger kite. Shorter bars go with smaller kites as longer bars go with larger kites. It deals with leverage and balancing control inputs. A well experienced kiter and perhaps a strong one might "try" to get by with a bar suitable for a 9 m kite with something larger like a 16 m. I've done it, didn't like the experience, took a lot of the fun and performance out of the session. Kite response is screwed up and it takes way too much strength.

Default Thanks

Thanks Rick. I did not know there were different bar lengths for different kites. I appreciate it!

You're welcome. I am guessing that you got the correct sized bar with your 9 m. To make sure you should measure the length of it in cm. Call your Cabrinha retailer and see if that is the recommended size for a 9 m. With C kite bars without pulleys you could get away with too short a bar a bit easier, still it was a pain in the butt.
