Default Kite spots near Boca Raton FL

Hey guys,
I'm going to be a freshman at FAU this fall. Can anyone give me information on the closest flat water spots near Boca. I've been looking online and it seems to be mostly beach/wave kiting over there.

Im from west florida so I've only kited flat spots such as east beach, and sunsent park.

any info is appreciated

-Sean

hey ill also be a freshman next year at FAU, when i visited i kited delray, which has awesome surf, and from what i know the nearest flat water is in either key biscayne or just off miami, about 45 min. away. but i definatly think it would be worth the drive. maybe we could car pool there or something

Yes, Biscayne Bay in Miami and virtually all the Florida Keys to the south are the closest good sized flat water venues to Boca. Still, waves can grow on you. Also, they radically diminish the odds of succumbing to FWN*. Do you know what you are pursuing at FAU? Went through there three times a coons age ago.

yeah thanks guys,

Ross Ill send u a message and get ur number or something. It'd be sick to know a fellow kiter. and 45 mins isnt too bad for car pooling.

And thanks for ur input Rick. haha FWN, never heard of that. but I can see myself getting into the surf pretty quick. right now my major is psychology, but Im thinking of going towards business. cant do much with 4 years of psych, and I dont want to be in school for the rest of my life!

Things aren't that far away from Boca Raton as a rule especially during off peak traffic times.

Wow, you could be the first to clinically describe FWN and make a name for yourself in the field of Psychology! Then again, your goal to avoid an excessive duration in university is an admirable one. Another degree program might serve you better vocationally and faster too. I first came out in Biology but the thought of trudging through to a Doctorate and all the related tedium prompted me to slide into Engineering. Business with the right focus might serve you well. Good luck in Boca.
