Those PMs might seem innocent and sort of funny, but... if you decide to download what appears to be a viewer to watch that porn, you are screwed. That's a seriously insidious bug.
I am surprised those two user accounts (surferguy and deinger) haven't been deleted yet, they were both reported as spammers on here yesterday.

Could it be a case where their computers are infected and they are unknowingly distributing spam?

Sometimes on myspace I get messages from my best friends telling me to go to a website and fill out a form for a free IPOD. I ask them about it and they have no clue??!??!


ALSO, "Willflorida" is the name of someone who sent me a porn spam mail thing. This makes me think it could be a virus infecting those users.

This should answer some questions.

Here is a very important question, has anyone received spam with:

"Have You ever seen this website"

in the subject line that WAS SENT ON OR AFTER JULY 19, 2008?


I know spam was sent out prior to that time as considerable steps were taken to correct the situation. I need to know if it is working or not. From that checks I can make at my end limited as they are, it seems to be working.

DO NOT OPEN THE PM HOWEVER, DELETE IT

Please don't confuse things with reports of spam received prior to July 19, 2008 as we know about those.


Aside from major software upgrades, I am now manually screening all new members. A large quantity of accounts that have been inactive for a considerable period of time with no posts have been disabled to where they can neither post or send PMs hopefully removing the long term "sleeper spambots" from the scene. Also, PM privileges won't kick in until after 20 posts into the foreseeable future.

I believe these spam PM's may have arisen from human assisted spambots and not individual members. Not certain but there is cause to conclude this. I hope and believe things are sorted out now.
