I sent an email off to Greg of Globerider Kites regarding your question. He should reply directly here.

Default GK Sonic

Sean,

what's up buddy. It's Miguel

the main idea behind the GK Sonic is that they pattented at system that reduces the amount of bridle lines that other bow kites carry.

In my opinion making it less complicated to attach and differenciate middle from outside lines for first time users.

The middle line attachment swivels up and down the line that stabilizes and connects to the trailing edge control.

Kind regards,

Miguel

Thanks for the input Miguel. I understand that the Sonic and Crossbow have differing shapes, presence and absence of pulleys and variances in bridling. Can anyone comment upon the influence of these differences on performance? I understand the Bow kites have impressive gust handling characterisitics. For a given kite size, say something around 11 to 12 m, what would you estimate the upper end to be? How does the kite behave near the upper wind limit?

Thanks!

Hi guys,
sorry for the delayed response, lost my old password and had to re-register.

We had an 11m Sonic here for testing for about 2 weeks after SurfExpo. Had to send it to Cali after that, but I'm getting more in about a week. We'll be scheduling demos around the state and I'll post them here.

The kite is simply amazing. The range is huge, it has really light bar pressure but super responsive. The jumps are big and floaty. Relaunch is effortless. Here is a link to some great pictures and reviews by different riders.

The key to the Sonic's performance is the KPO system on the front bridle. This simple mechanism balances the kite perfectly on the front lines by allowing the kite to rock back and forth as it sheets in and out.

I'll be glad to answer any of your questions.

Forgot to mention, retail price in the US for the 11m... $1380 complete w/ bar and bypass leash. Not bad when you condider this kite will replace 2 or 3 of your classic C kites. I can't wait to travel with only one kite!

Where would one be able to purchase one of these fine kites if one were so inclined? I have not been able to find them on the web in the US.
