Chris M will tell ya about how those winds get when its got a little west in it and coming over the trees..

i was out a ways riding last week and see some guy getting lofted near those trees w/ a bow kite and it took a few people to save him from smashing into a car.

i was thinking "what a kook! who gets lofted with a bow?!?!?.. must be another one of those new riders getting ready to ruin it for everyone.."

Very much to my surprise it was Chris (a seasoned rider if you dont know him) and it serves as a very real reminder that unexpected stuff can and will happen to everyone.. seasoned riders, bow kiters, etc.

definitely use caution when kiting at EB with western winds of any sort.. park closer to the turnabout and keep away from the west tree line..

if it really swings SW you will have to get out past the break to get solid wind.

i still prefer backside on SW

Once it goes SW, EB sucks, especially when launching and landing.
It was still SSW when that happened to Chris last weekend, but his kite was about as far SW as you can get at EB and behind a wind shadow from the mangroves when he launched.

Big Beach becomes great on a SW.

The parking at PaG on a weekend after 11am is going to be pretty close to impossible. Prepare to drive around in circles for a half hour waiting for a spot to open. I have noticed it is absolutely packed at the beaches this year. PaG has pretty limited parking (a lot of our beaches max the parking).

Can someone hop on http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UT...1dc4fcb4cd7db3

and see if it's showing a satellite image or just a bunch of ? images in the satellite images place.
The "terrain" and "map" choices work fine.

I am working with Google maps right now on Wiki and they all took a crap.
Curious if it's just me. Thanks.

Means that it'll be building towards gale force by late afternoon depending on the speed of that front

Seasoned rider = Old guy with kite.

Yep I should have looked at the wind better. It switched by the time I came back from Subway.. I thought the wind had just dropped off a bit. My ass still hurts.

Chris, is there a way I could edit your map a little?
If so, how? Thanks. A direct link and map key (api) could help me to embed it, if possible

Hey Scott, don't you think Sat. looks similar to one of those old EB days where everyone rigs a 16 and by 2:00 everyone is on 10's, then it switches to the sw later in the afternoon.
