Default Why didn't this take off?

Why didn't this (or a variation of it) take off?
http://www.medialifemagazine.com/cgi...e=276&num=5842

Local restaurants, etc., pay planes to fly the beaches.
I know I would ride up and down the beach with kite that said something on it or a light weight flag towed behind it for 70 bucks an hour (if we had wind).
And more people (it seems) would pay attention to it cuz it's more in their face and new.

Anyway, something to talk about.
I thought Antonio was on to something there at first.

Does anyone know if this is taking off anywhere else?
With so many kites on the water, it seems like at bare minimum you could talk a company into buying your kites for you if you had their logo All over it.
Imagine a red and yellow WENDY's kite

Or a Budweiser kite.
Am I missing something? Why hasn't this happened yet?

I know some pros have logos on their kites. It just seems like big companies are missing out by not having riders put up their ads in the sky.
I must be missing something.

probably a lot easier to sell if you can give the customer a true sense of how often and where their advertisement would be displayed.

I can see in places like DR where the beaches are constantly crowded and the wind is consistent it would be a great thing..

here its hit or miss..

in places like Oregon at Hood River its windy during the summer but its typically not crowded with anything but wind junkies doing their thing..

When is the last time you saw a plane pulling a banner crash the banner onto a bystander because the pilot was trying to do a loop too close to the ground?
