Default Louisiana kiteboarding?

Anyone here kite in Louisiana? I saw some guys kiting in Destin, FL this past weekend and it looks like a lot of fun. I wakeboard now and want to give kiteboarding a try. I am just starting to gather info on the sport so any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

I know that there were some kiters in the New Orleans area at one time. I looked into riding there a while back but it seems that the rideable winds are fairly light. You might get in touch with these guys in the Florida Panhandle for some ideas by PM or email. They may know some instructors over that way.

Some guys ride at West End Boat launch, but it is no place to learn. Broken concrete entry into the water etc. There are a few other launch sites on Lake Pontchartrain, but all require a bit of skill. Pass Cristian Mississippi (one hour drive East) is the place to go around NO (as long as the wind has some southerly component). Anyone interested in getting together around NO, shoot me an email.
