Arrow Photos - Lighthouse Kite Session

Some photos from last night's session around Hillsboro Inlet. I had a GoPro HD2 mounted on the kite and one on my helmet.

Quite a few guys were at the launch to take on some of the nice southeasterly winds.

I finally met Dave of S.F. Windsports, always on the lookout for great photos to capture.

A girl came up on a wave runner out for some speed runs through the waves. I caught some shots from my kite and helmet.

That is the first reef going inland under the northern jetty. Those orange masses are areas of boring sponge tearing into the rock of the reef.

Trying to coordinate some shots on the fly yelling across the water.

A scenic area to ride and shoot

Nice waves rolling in north of the inlet backstopped by the jetty.

Nite for now ...

Default Fine series, as usual

The evening lighting is so sweet, side lighting cloud and wave. The kite shots are always a treat, it's fun to get that perspective. You even got a shot of me out on my kite! I'm glad to see some of the shots of the wave runner came out well, I know you were hoping for that. Thanks for sharing.

The red of the boring sponges caught my eye, I wondered at it. You mentioned "tearing at the reef", are they invasive?

Yes, they are it is hard to go wrong at dawn and dusk. Which one was your kite, I probably have some more images? The wave runner lady was really booking at points but never very close by getting nice air too. You are welcome and thank you for your input!

You will see the boring sponges in the high energy wave zones of a reef tract etching into the rock for food and a holdfast.

Thanks, I will go through the images some more. Shooting on auto you end up with several thousand images in a fairly short time.
