Default Kite spots North of Tampa?

I was looking on Google Earth for some kite spots North of Tampa.

I've rode at Pine Island and thought it was one of the best spots ever!
I have also tried to kite there during a super high tide, and got skunked due to the lack of a launch and rigging area.
(I rode here the day after Hurricane Jean passed through in '04!! It was a strong South wind, EPIC!! I rode a '02 Cabrinha Black Tip with the new DART system, not so epic)

Anyway,

I noticed Green Key was the next kiteable area down the coast from Pine Island. Is the place off limits? Is it a worthwhile spot?

The next kiteable spot towards Tampa is Fred Howard Park. Looked Unreal! But upon a Google search, I noticed the spot was off limits!?!? Is this still true?

Or, are the best spots over there around St. Petersburg/Tampa Bay?

Thank you for your responses!

B_leightly pre-warned me on getting flammed for mentioning my kite-at-the-time. :-D

Thank you Skyway Scott! Your right, not many responses @ EK forum

Thanks again, I know some spots are secret!

Hopefully some guys from up north will give you the scoop, Rob.
Btw, you only think your Avatar shot is from a secret spot.
I posted that spot on Kiteforum recently with detailed driving directions.

Anclote and North Anclote Key and Three Rooker rock and only accessible by boat or jet ski. Honeymoon is also great on anything with West wind.

I hope this helps you out.

Sunset Park just south of Howard Park is good for North to Northwest. Yes kiteing is still banned from Howard Park. If you ride Dunedin stay on the south side of the causeway, the police have insisted that we launch to the west of the rental hut.
