Hotel recommendation - between Homestead and Islamorada?

Headed to Miami tomorrow with my girlie to kite out of Whale's Harbor, Islamorada on Sunday morning. The usual friends I stay with are all out of town! Sucks!

Anyways, I wanted to know if anyone could recommend a cheap place to stay anywhere between Homestead and Islamorada. I plan on launching early Sunday, so I don't really care to spend a lot of money on a place that I need to just crash for 7-8 hours.

Tried all the conventional venues (online) and everything is like $100 and up. So far, Florida City is looking like it may have those cheap highway motels. Was hoping to find like a $39.95 Best Western type, but that may be unrealistic.
