The "Bathtub" is located just to the north of Sailfish Point on the inlet. Guys used to kite here but as one of the few regularly crowded areas and one with a pretty narrow beach it is worth avoiding. A Sat. image/map of the area appears at: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...10995,0.176468 There is a core group of regular riders at Ft. Pierce Inlet. Many have been into windsports in a big way for a long time. It is a bit north but that might be a good venue for you to start at. Avoid people on the beach south of Ft. Pierce Inlet. Since the beach renourishment it is fairly wide these days. There are often guys there to help you with launch and landing. This launch is epic in strong N to NE winds, the waves go off! That is a more regular thing in the colder months of course. This time of year useable wind is more rare. Stop by the new kiteshop up that way, http://www.tckiteboard.com/ and say hi to GK and the local crew. The local guys had a particularly interesting session recently at the Inlet, details at: http://fksa.org/viewtopic.php?t=1711 There are still more spots but in time you will learn most of them. Have fun and watchout for our summer squalls, particularly those that come with tropical systems. Going 12 mph to 60 mph + in a few seconds can really wreck your day.
