Default Kite injury caught on film

While filming Matanzas recently, I unfortunately filmed Jimbo get hurt.
We all love Jimbo here. He is a great guy, period.

He is upbeat about his injury. So much so, we decided to have a bit of fun at his expense with this video.

If it makes you groan, giggle or both, it was a successful vid.
He didn't realize the water depth (obviously).

Hello Scott,

Sorry to hear that Jumbo was hurt. What sort of injuries did he receive in that shallow water impact? Hope he heals fully and fast!

A broken scaphoid bone in the wrist and among some other things.
From what he has told his via his doc (a kiter ) that injury can be tricky because of the nerves and the blood supply to the area.
We are hoping for him to get better soon. He should be here any minute, I'll tell him you said hi. He's got a great attitude about it. Some would just mope around ops:

That is too bad, yes please give him my best wishes for a swift recovery. Those shallow water wipeouts can be really bad. I had my first example of this many years ago, in 1999 or 2000 I think.

A skilled Florida kiter kitesurfing with open cell foil had a bad jump landing in about 3 ft. of water. He pretty much exploded one of his knees. Shallow water can be fun but it sure can be a pain too.

Heal fast Jimbo!
