Bryan,

Don't quote me on this, and I believe if I am wrong someone will correct me, but they are having at least 2 groups.

Those that want to compete will already be rigged and riding within a defined area and will be signaled when to start.

Shortly after that, the other riders will begin.

Chris Moore and Jayson Orkins have already determined the way the race will start. You are mostly correct Danimal.

1) All competitors to win will be tacking in between designated marker such as a buoy and shore before the start.

2) All out to have a good time will stay on shore with kites in the air.

3) When airhorn sounds, EVERYONE starts from where they are at. Some will hang back as in past years but all are free to go at the sound of the airhorn from what I understand.
