Kiteboarding Instructor Certification Course
Saturday, Sept. 11th - Wednesday, Sept. 15th
10 a.m. - 5 p.m. each day
Melbourne, Fla.

This five-day certification course is designed for kiteboarders desiring to become Level 1 PASA certified kiteboarding instructors. Prerequisites for this course are the ability to kite upwind, perform advanced turns, maintain control in most wind conditions and perform simple jumps. This course takes an instructor candidate through kite theory, kite rigging and repair, a basic understanding of weather and its effects on kiting, school site evaluation, emergency recovery systems as well as effective teaching and communication tools. The mix of theory and hands on teaching gives the instructor candidate the skills necessary to become a safe, competent and communicative kiteboarding instructor. In order to enroll in the course you must first join PASA as a professional member (annual dues of $150.00). The cost of the course is $500 and does not include CPR or First Aid training. Kiteboarding Demo / Media Day
Monday, Sept.20th, Noon - 5 p.m. Tuesday Sept.21st (Alternative Wind Day)

The PASA kiteboarding demo / media day is an opportunity for both retailers and the press to experience first hand what the buzz surrounding kiteboarding is all about. Representatives from various manufacturers will be on hand with the latest gear to demonstrate the limitless excitement that kiteboarding brings to the world of water sports. This will all take place on the kite beaches of Melbourne, Fla. Integrating Kiteboarding & Snowkiting into your Boardsport Retail Strategies
Saturday, Sept. 18th, 1 - 2 p.m.

This seminar is geared toward the boardsport retailer looking to diversify their customer base without straying from the core of their retail philosophy. It is an opportunity for retailers to catch the wave as kiteboarders begin to migrate toward surfboards and skimboards as their mode of transportation. The hottest emerging winter sport snowkiting will also be presented. With the proper instruction and kite gear snowboarders can transform a snowy wind blown field into an insane terrain park (No Incline Needed!!). Representatives from PASA as well as the kiteboarding / snowkiting industry will discuss how kiteboarding / snowkiting equipment can be integrated into your boardsport retail strategies.


Insurance Seminar for Kiteboarding / Snowkiting Schools and Retailers
Sunday, Sept. 19th, 1 - 2 p.m.

Representatives from First Flight Insurance Group, Inc. will be on hand to discuss necessary components of a strong comprehensive liability policy, specifically tailored to the kiteboard / snowkite school and retailer. Topics to be discussed include: Liability limits; how much is enough, what to look for in a policy; am I really covered, as well as water craft coverage.
