"Red Bull Wake of Fame marks the next generation of wakeboarding and wakeskating as it pushes the boundaries of the sport. At the legendary Ft. Lauderdale Aquatic Complex that is nestled just behind the International Swimming Hall of Fame, there are three pools that typically host world champion swimmers and divers but on Friday, December 3rd it will transform into a “wake park” and become the newest playground for the industry’s... top riders.

Set amongst three outdoor pools – training lap pool, competition pool and diving well – each is linked together by features including hand rails, sliders, a quarter pipe and a kicker that are sure to make for some big air tricks. The winch system allows the athletes to use their most creative and dynamic skills along the course, which is inspired by skateboard parks.

Caution: Sitting in the front rows will more than likely lead to soggy pants and frizzy hair... In other words, expect to get wet!

Twelve wakeboarders: JD Webb, Adam Errington, Parks Bonifay, Steel Laferty, Ollie Derome, Raphael Derome, Keith Lidberg, Danny Harf, Nico von Lerchenfeld, Kevin Henshaw and Shane Bonifay

Six wakeskaters: Brian Grubb, Reed Hansen, Ben Horan, Nick Taylor, Andy Pastura and Brandon Thomas

Gates open at 6:00 p.m.
Athlete meet-and-greet at 6:15 p.m.
Competition begins at 7:00 p.m."

9:30 pm – Wakeboard Finals – Heat of 3
10:00 pm - Awards

And I hear from Clinton Bolton there will be some kiters competing who may not have been listed in the advanced news releases. Folks like Marc Shuster Jeff Trudeau Hiro Okamoto Ian McKeown Matthew Sexton Otherside Boardsports.

Conditions sound good for a pool cable event, not much wind but it should be a bit chilly. A high of 71 F in the day dropping to 51 at night.

What could be more natural than walking just across the street to the Treasure Trove Bar for an after action party?

"Slingshot and Sesitec will be sponsoring the officially unofficial after party at the infamous Treasure Trove, a stones throw from the entrance to the swimmers hall of fame (where the event is being held). The Trove will be giving away insane drink specials and pumping good tunes all night. There will also be several guest brands with giveaways all night.
