Danny, I've been going up there for a week for a family reunion the second week in July since I was born, you can find waves almost anywhere up there along the Atlantic side of the island. I would suggest that if you want to find the best waves to go to REAL Kiteboarding in Waves, NC (the town) and ask for Shawn Warmouth who is a REAL coach again this year. I know those guys always go surfing when it isn't blowing so they will know where the best surf is...

Amber when are you heading up in July? I'm considering going up there for a week after the 20th. You know of any cheap hotels/campsites?

Default REAL bunks

Sean,

Call REAL Kiteboarding. They rent out bunks in a little room of a building with like 6 bunks by the bed. They do it pretty cheap from what I remember too, like dirt cheap for up there in prime season. But the bunks go fast so either PM Shawn Warmouth who is a local rider who is coaching for REAL both this and last summer or just call REAL ASAP. You may want to drop Shawn's name too, you never know if that would help with the rate you get...

Awesome! Thanks Toby! Sounds like a hostel-style setup, I can handle that. I've done it a few times now. I'll contact shawn and iron out the details. A buddy of mine wants to come also, but he's looking to surf.
