Default Reminders...

We have a lot of new riders showing up so I just wanted to make some friendly reminders (we've all heard it before right):

Dont forget to raise or lower your kite to let another rider by... Yesterday I had put my kite so low it touched the tree tops avoid someone who was passing me in the opposite direction with their kite also very low. I realize they were having fun and just forgot. No big deal it happens... but it's easy so try to remember.

At skyway north it seems like a common thing lately to have someone pass you just down wind with their kite at 11:00. Effectively this means the upwind rider has to actually stop riding, sink, and put his kite at 12:00 to let you by. Please, put the kite low so they can pass upwind!

If someone is unhooked and getting tea bagged while hanging from their bar fully powered.... try not to pass too close especially down wind... they could get dragged into you or let go of their kite. Wait until they get hooked back in and you know they are in control.

If you see someone jump do not ride towards where they will likely be landing (ie: within 150 feet down wind of them). Just change directions or go upwind.

Thats it guys, hope you guys are having fun. I know I am... the afternoon wind has been great.

Good points Tom, I agree with all of these except this one:

It is the jumpers responsibility to look out for other riders downwind and behind them. Look before you send your kite, for instance...Rick Day.

(shortened for clarity)

Right, something I forgot to mention definitely look before you jump!

Yeah it's up to the jumper initially *but* after he/she initiates the jump he/she is committed.

It's just as important for riders to avoid jumpers as it is for jumpers to avoid other riders... and it's easy.

You just avoid going down wind of the person while they are in the air...
