Hatteras / OBX - end of April?

Dan B and I have been talking about making a trip up to Hatteras for a while.. thinking this spring might be a good time to go.

Reading up on Kiteforum.. looks like late April is as good as any to get up there and get some solid, dependable winds.

Anyone have a line on accomodations up there? I'd be cool with renting a house if we got enough folks to go.

I'm trying to head up there around that time as well. Also thinking about trying to make it a trip sponsored by my school USF. Let me know what you guys are doing for housing ect...I'd be interested in getting in on it.

We got a house for Lori , Maya and I in Avon; Haven't heard yet from Bryan or Dan if they got a house yet or what size/ where

how long are you guys going to be up there? driving?

driving..14 hours accoring to google maps.. we will see..

booking hotel for April 30 to May 4..
going to stay around Avon .. getting a week house rental as an option but if the weather looks craptastic we can bail out with 7 day notice.. not an option for that on house rentals.

last time Dan and I booked our trip a little thing called Tropical Storm Alberto came roaring thru and tore everything up.. we stayed here and kited in the 30+ wind all week and weekend.
