Indian Rocks DP Wednesday, 4.28.10
Am thinking of hitting Indian Rocks tomorrow early if forecast holds for good North wind in the morning. Previously I have gone to 8th Ave. Found a nice shower there for after and the location seems looks farthest West on coastline to catch a clean North wind. 8th Ave matches the location on the list of launches on this forum. However, I also understand others go to 21st Ave. Is there a reason for going to 21st Ave versus 8th Ave.
Am a relative newbie and would appreciate any insights on 8th Ave versus 21st Ave at Indian Rocks.... Regards, Tim

24th Ave is the last public parking on IRB. North of that Ave the beach crowd really thins out. Less people more room less likely to have mishaps with public. North wind is just as good.

Thanks much for response on Indian Rocks which certainly makes sense. As I'm coming up from St. Pete early morning tomorrow I think I'll opt for 8th Ave. launch. Its closer and in the early morning I should beat the crowd... Regards, Tim

Have fun. AM should be fine. I was out an hour before sunset and was just perfect out. The full moon was out and the sun was setting. The colors on the water were breathtaking. I may meet you in the am around 9 if your still out. I will look for you.
