but after all the preparation we have made for the race we are waiting for the right wind.
i believe the wind is coming and we are hoping for next weekend 11/24 11/25 .

Hey Enrique,

Thanks for all your work and preparation. This has happened before, wind waiting. In an off wind year, 2002, not like this year which seems to be far better, we held on for weeks to put on a Ft. Pierce event. Your concept allows for this which is a very good thing. Often enough the event date is fixed but the wind is not and folks sit around. So give it some time, the wind will come.

Can't wait! One small piece of advice for your start. You must place times on your flag sequence for starting proceedure. Make the flag handling snappy and EXACTY n time. I would suggest using a

Prep Horn: Several short blasts of the air horn approximatly 30 seconds before Red Up.

Red UP (and 1 blast): 6 min to start
Red Down: 5 min to start
Yellow up (and 1 blast): 3 min to start
Yellow down: 1 min to start
Green up (and 1 blast): GO

It is also very important to have a provision for catching early starters and recalling the entire fleet if too many riders are over early. if you have no provision for this you are at risk.

The starting line and proceedures are very, very important on a short race like this. The top 3 riders will like finish with in 15-45 seconds of eachother.

we were talking about a month ago about how to start the race and we came to this start because of input like yours it was actually one of your team mates that had this suggestion .
if people do start the race early we will send the jet skies after them and on the morning of the race i will make it really clear that nobody can go untill green flag
