Default News from the Professional Kiteboarding Instructors of America‏

Greetings Kiteboarders!

Just wanted to let you know that the PKIA website is now live. It's a simple start with lots more content on the way. We will be adding Instructor Bios for all PKIA instructors as well as a webpage for each PKIA Member School. There is some basic information about the organization but if you have any specific questions please give me a call!

PKIA has held it's first Snowkite Instructor Training College and Snowkite Instructor Certification just this past week in Utah! Trainers Anton Rainold & Brian Schenck said that the training went really well and that the participants were stoked on the whole process. We will be posting the newly certified instructors info on the website soon. The next snowkite training and certification exam will take place in December...dates will be set and confirmed soon and then posted to our online training calendar.

We would like to welcome to PKIA new Member Schools Colorado Kiteforce in Silverthorne Colorado and Koolbreeze Kiteboarding (contract kiteschool for Windsurfing Hamptons) in Southampton New York!

So far the response to a new kiteboarding instructors organization has been positive. The schools that have looked into the liability insurance policy and have gotten a quote have reported that their quote came in at 1/3 of their present policy premium! Plus, they are really pleased when they learn that there is no deductable and the student is covered under the policy too. The Port of Hood River in Oregon, which requires all of it's permitted kiteschools to have insurance, recently looked over the policy and gave it the thumbs up!

We are still offering reciprocity to all IKO and PASA certified instructors so if that is you...and you would like to get in on the ground floor of this organization without a lot of time and expense, just go to the website and fill out the instructor application. Our hope is that this will make it easy for schools to take advantage of the excellent and affordable insurance policy that PKIA has to offer. The days of paying way too much for insurance are over!
