For one, it looks like you should have wind moving over Nassau soon and for another there are some new weather resources online for the Bahamas.

You may need a membership to view some of this stuff but it may be cheap at the price for a Net membership. Some of the things include a realtime wind speed map at:

One of my favorites for trying to understand trends and arrival times/directions of winds is given by Wind flow viz. which apparently isn't turned on for the Bahamas. It is for all of Florida however an you might be able to get some insight on what is coming your way from that,

NOTE: the wind forecasts are often of poor reliability IF they are totally computer generated as they are for both Florida and the Bahamas. So, I would rely upon your current sources for that sort of info.

we will be checking the links.
the wind was very strong and gusty today so I oppted not to go out.
plus it looked like the day I hurt my self.
