Default Reality

I think if your expectation is to see full on kiteboarding for one hour, then I can see your dissappointment. However, if you expectation is to follow two guys as they chase the wind and reality sets in....well.....

These guys are working on limited windows of time and luckily they have other skills besides kiteboarding to fill in the time. Isn't that what the life is all about?

Adventure, the unknown, improvisation....

In a weird kind of way, this is not a bad thing, cuz if they get too many people stoked on the sport, your crowded local launch just got more crowded with a bunch of newbies. The reality of this sport is its not always epic. I think it was ballsy of the editor to show that side in spite of not always showing amazing kiteboarding footage for one full hour.

Reality....a blessing indeed.

I found the show very interesting. Could have been more kiting for sure, but facts are that getting to, preparing for, and cleaning up after kiting is a lot of work. I wondered for the entire show why they all would not be in high end goretex drysuits and warm, vs. Looking cool in plastic bags with loads of wet clothes on under them and freezing. The guides were wearing the good stuff.

Default Alaska, China, North Carolina, whatever..

Read about the show but unfortunately don't get it here in China. Matter of fact, don't get much of ANY TV here. If we do, it's highly censored and in a language I couldn't understand. Kiting is a challenge most everywhere. We have been here almost 9 months and tried on MANY occasions to ride. All except for one time we got skunked. I also drove 18 hrs to No. Caroline a couple years ago and sat for a week, getting toasted waiting on wind that never came. Went to Texas and the water was so friggen cold... Then down to Mexico, almost got shredded by rocks. All in all TPA has the best all around opportunity. KEEP it a SECRET as long as possible!!
