Blackberry Kiter Application
If you have a Blackberry, you may want to check out this Blackberry Kiter application. It allows you to log all your kite sessions and even better then that it gives you forecast data for all the spots you like to kite at. It also has another screen for NOAA weather stations to put that data all on one screen. You can email your sessions/locations to anyone you want as a way to share the stoke.

I've just started playing with this application, it is pretty neat. Never been that fastidious about logging sessions. Yet, think of all the time you spend at traffic lights, in line, waiting for ... well, you name it. You can enter particulars of a session in seconds and be able to look back on it anytime you feel like it. You can even send it to others. Add the nice real time wind report, all on one screen and you're all set start working on the next session. Thanks Nick, nice ap for the phone and kiters!

Hey,
Just be certain your company is not keeping tabs on your email with those links. That thing would get me in trouble for leaving early and skipping days to kiteboard. On the other hand if they check the wind report and production reports there is probably a direct correlation. Clew In |

app for iPhone
I looked for the app in itunes and in the app function on the phone and couldn't find it. I emailed the producer to find out if it was in the works.

I should have said it in my first post, but I'm the writer of Kiter Log, it started as something I just wanted for me and some other local kiters saw it on my phone and really wanted it too. I'm working on it for iphone, but Apple aka, skynet, does make it as easy as you would think to create applications...
Let me know if you guys have any improvement ideas, I plan for pretty much free updrades for life, unless I add something pretty ridiculous... |

I adding some new things, now shows more of the details of your session, % chance of rain for your lat and long, and you select if it is noaa buoy or other weather station, which has made it much more accurate...let me know if you guys have an ideas
To update the program just download it again from http://www.corocks.com/kiterlog/ on your blackberry. Before doing that make sure your wind speeds, wind gusts, and temperatures for your sessions are only two digits and wind direction is only 3 digits or less, like WSW or N... In this version i limited the lengths and pick the key layout for faster entry based on some user comments...if you put in key you won't have to do it again... Thanks! Yes, I was adding some more updates... it should work now. I also lowered the price to $10 - and paypal was trying to add shipping, which was also a mistake, everyone that paid more than that will be refunded.
New improvements: faster download, station and buoy IDs for current conditions. When you have any weather item highlighted, just select "Session This" from menu choices and it will make a session with all that weather data. Enjoy! Last edited by OttoNP; 06-08-2009 at 08:00 PM. Reason: spelling |

I listing some Buoy IDs in your area for those that are trying the program, put them in on the observation screen by selecting new on the menu, then a name (shorter is better), then the station ID below and select Buoy ID, then save:
