video of kitesurfing near Santa Cruz, CA
I hope you enjoy this. Conditions are quite good all spring so this makes a great destination for spring break. The site, Scott's Creek, is just a few minutes north of Santa Cruz. You can fly in and out of either San Francisco or San Jose (San Jose is closer). There are many hotels there, one really good one (ten stories high, the only skyscraper around) overlooks the main surf beach in town. I hope you enjoy. Your comments are quite welcome.

What a great riding area, excellent wind and waves! What are air and water temperatures like currently? Is there a wind season?

this video was taken the week before last, on tuesday march 29th. water temp was probably about 56 - 57. air in the wind was probably 65 - 70. water temperatures don't vary much - it's cold, probably between 50 and 64 degrees fahrenheit. A 3/2 mm wetsuit and booties are a good idea. air temperature varies but is moderate, from 50's in the winter to 70's 80's in the spring summer and fall. waves are pretty dependable from about christmas to may. outside of that it's hit and miss, but the wind blows dependably most of the spring summer and fall. it's a great place to ride. also, a quick trip up the coast takes you to san francisco and there is great riding at a beach called crissy field just inside the golden gate.
