$500 up for grabs
Attention water people. $500 up for grabs for whoever finds a missing RSMAS sensor. Deployed off of Hobie beach in about 10 feet of water at GPS location 25 44.170'N 80 10.390 W. Looks like a yellow pyramid sitting on the bottom and its about 3 X 3 feet in size. If you find it, mark with a buoy and call 305-794-0987 and earn $500 on the spot.

Hope you find it! I would take a stab at it if I wasn't tied up two counties north. Usually pretty lucky at finding stuff UW with persistence. Did it drift off station?

Perhaps it should be qualified that kitesurfers on kites should not be deployed off of Hobie in masses to find the device:lol:

"find my probe"
not really sure what happened. The professor who deployed it (it isn't mine....thank goodness) said it is likely too big and heavy to pull up on a boat for regular folks to steal it....so either it's covered in sediment and invisible to the eye, or somebody pulled it up thinking it was a crab trap and then realizes it wasn't and hopefully dropped it back down. Meanwhile the marker line/buoy was broken.
here is a picture of it...as of 10:45 nobody had found it yet. so keep hunting! |
