Momentum and really efficient foil sections? Pretty amazing sequence, thanks for putting it up. I recall being ridiculed by a sky diver at one time when I suggested something like this. Well, wait long enough and there you are. Anyone still sky dive on here?
Talking to the head of the USHGA (and Paragliding Association) a few years back, she said low altitude aerobatics was taking a serious toll on sky divers. Distance is your friend even in that!

The ultimate in paragliding short film. Finish it. The filming quality alone is worth it.

Not to be a downer, but when I was in Kitty Hawk getting my cert with PASA, one of our days was spent learning how to hang glide. Anyway, they told us a story about one of their instructors trying a world record attempt for most rotations on a a glider. I am sure it was something similar to what we just witnessed on the video.
Soooooo, it turns out things when wrong, the glider failed and the pilot free fell to the ground crushing about every bone in his body. Somehow he survived. It was amazing to see that canopy hold a shape like that. The vimeo vid is AWESOME!!! Thanks for throwing that up. It shit I see like that on the forum that keeps me coming back!!! |
